NZ Mini Golf Week 2020

The start of March 2020 will see the best mini golfers in Oceania and New Zealand compete in up to 14 rounds (252 holes!) of stroke play at Hamilton's Pro Drive mini golf course.

In conjunction with the Oceania Mini Golf Federation, we're proud to start the celebrations with the Oceania Championships commencing on Tuesday 4th March.

The NZ Mini Golf Open, Aotearoa's premier mini golf event, follows the Oceania events on the 6th March.

Oceania Championships

Men and Women divisions - 8-round of 18-hole strokeplay across two days.  Lowest total score wins.

Youth division - 2 rounds of 18-hole strokeplay.  Lowest total score wins.

National Teams - Countries can nominate one or more mixed (men and women) teams of 4 players.  Team scores are the combined scores of individual players strokeplay.

Oceania Match play

In this knock-out matchplay competition, players are matched up for 1v1 18-hole rounds.  The lowest scoring player heads onto the next round.  The last remaining player is the winner.

New Zealand Mini Golf Open

Pro division - 6 rounds of 18-hole strokeplay.  Lowest total score wins.

Amateur Men & Women divisions - 3 rounds of 18-hole strokeplay.  Lowest total score wins.

Youth division - 2 rounds of 18-hole strokeplay. Lowest total score wins.

Saturday 7th March 2020

  • Break after round 2 before re-seeding for final round

Venue

Just outside the Hamilton CBD, Pro Drive is a frequent stop on the annual Putting Tour, favourite for New Zealand Mini Golfers.

Before the Event

We are currently working on practice options for registered players.

The Rules

  1. You are welcome to bring your own golf putter or simply use one from the course
  2. Only genuine golf balls or European mini golf balls are permitted
  3. Hit within the marked tee-off area at the start of each hole
  4. Maximum strokes per hole is 7
  5. If a ball exits the lane, it can be placed at the point of exit without a penalty stroke
  6. The ball may be moved one official score-card length away from the edge
  7. Don't be a dick

Course-Specific Rules

There are often holes and situations that require some more explanation.  Sometimes these are only identified in the practice prior.  These will be advised to registered players as well as listed here.

  • A ball lying in the rough may be repositioned to the edge towards the cup and played from there (note: ball must still be on rough)
